Fabulous 2-sider which offers something for both lowrider-soul as well as deepfunk aficionados. "Don't Wake Me Up" is deep soul at its best while the flip "The Jack Mod Kick" is a monstrous deepfunk killer. That is why we put the latter one onto our third volume in the Feeling Nice series (TRLP/CD-9048) some years back.
A面のヤンチャにうねりまくるファンキー曲「The Jack Mod Kick」(sample1）も後半のブレイク＆スキャット＆音像含めて最高ですが、B面のチビッコ甘茶なヘタウマ・ヘタヘタなソウル「Don’t Wake Me Up」(sample2）が後半のリバーブ深めの効果含めて、なんとも歌心哀愁タマりません。大推薦とさせていただきます。 (コンピューマ) (7inchのコメントから参照)
