"Neverland"'s unpredictable synth line catches you straight away. Percussive elements and organic
textures, yielding a hint of reminiscent nostalgia, grow more and more prominent before launching
into a satisfying and wistful soundscape that carries you away with ease. The pad work is sublime,
the vocals are mesmerising, the melody lines tender yet wilful. Drifting echoes and warped
elements tell the story of getting lost and submerging deep in something unreachable. Shifting
between moments of contemplation and pureness, delight and hesitation get to play equal parts in
this ravishing musical tale.
The single comes alongside a remarkable video, realised by Anique Wild and her crew, recently
nominated for "Best Emerging Artist" and "Best Cinematography" category of the London Fashion
film festival, as well as shortlisted for the Berlin Commercial 2020. In her music video Natascha
Polké takes us by the hand effortlessly, soaring through darkness and skin-diving into the
unknown. An undistllled, grasping representation of a feeling we all know too well and seek so
often. The visual creation defies traditional boundaries on all levels. The collaboration brought
together three artists from different disciplines; director Anique Wild, director of photography Nino
Michel and production designer Jimena Cugat. The three creatives skilfully and naturally weaved
their influences into one, creating a truly stunning dreamscape. A perfect synergy between music,
fashion and art.
