Hamburg's Zissou Records returns this December with an EP by label co-founder David Bay, entitled 'Zissou Edits Best Vol.1' and made up of four funk-infused disco cuts. David Bay is the Hamburg based co-founder of Zissou Records and a member of the band Pool. Recent times have seen him begin releasing solo material under his own name, remixing The Phenomenal Handclap Band on Toy Tonics alongside Ray Mang and Danny Krivit. Here though we see Bay unveil a selection of fresh original compositions for his full debut, offered up via his own beloved Zissou imprint. Leading the release is 'Me With Your <3', fusing cinematic string lines, noodling guitar licks, expansive delays and swirling filter work throughout. 'I Changed My POV' follows next, this time round laying focus on an amalgamation of cut up guitar samples and plucked bass notes alongside crunchy percussion and vocal chants to create a dynamic, ever unfolding workout.
