Inspired by the journeys depicted in Michael Pollan's book, also titled - How to Change Your Mind, Pleaxure's second EP this year chronicles a life-changing LSD trip that took place in late 2018, which pulled back a veil of fear and self-doubt plaguing the producer in the preceding years. Grant Wheeler credits this trip for the realization of Pleaxure as a project and the subsequent writing of this record in the following month. After its completion, he recruited Toronto-based techno producer and DJ, Ciel, to tie off the record with a unique remix twisting together of two of Change's tracks into a momentous and ever evolving techno exploration and a seeming retrograde of the EP itself.
"Change comes quickly. Your eyes replace negative space with ever changing dots of approximation. Your feelings become a shape shifting notion of love and courage and acceptance. It's a suddenly quiet mind, quiet enough to hear your own self that you knew from so long ago. A hand gently reaches out and leads you to him or her. You were there are all along, and it's good to be back."
