Azimute are Cesare Marchese and Swiss producer Philippe Quenum, whos certainly no stranger to in-the-know techno heads. Although they have just seven releases under their belt, theyve actually had output on labels like Crosstown Rebels or even Transmat in a relatively short period of time. Now theyve found their way on to Cocoon Recordings and what the pair conjour up together leaves us totally speechless.
"The Secret" gives us a glimpse of what weve just described because as it stands, Azimuth are still something of an insider tip. Intriguingly, their Cocoon debut contains one of the highest soul factors of any of our releases, packed with beguiling vocals and click-clacking percussion sounds from the shallows of the techno-sound universe. Meanwhile the additional house mix is decorated with warm and hypnotic filter chords as Azimute serve up a production of incredible intensity and depth.
These two original versions certainly get things off on the right foot and will no doubt be receiving a lot of attention over the coming weeks, but thats not all. Theres also a Cristi Cons remix on top that unfolds over 11 minutes and 29 seconds in true Villalobos or Cadenza style as the legend unleashes his minimal vibe, opening yet another fascinating musical door. So there you have it - three versions that are by no means commonplace but have already been on heavy rotation for days! Mile grace Azimute!
