Traumraum is the new label launched by German producer and artist Patrick Zigon. Translating to English as 'dream space' or 'room of dreams', Traumraum has been the name of Patrick's production studio and successful event series since 2005, with long-term residencies in legendary clubs such as Climax Institutes Stuttgart and Macarena Club Barcelona. Primarily, it's Zigon's philosophy: you must give your dreams enough room to develop, room for surreal and abstract electronic music - so it's only fitting that it finally gets its own label.
For the debut release, Patrick invited two exceptional artists, with whom he's linked through a long-standing friendship and collaboration: Tom Clark and Noah Pred, better known together as False Image for their releases on Get Physical, Little Helpers, and Bar 25. Back in 2009, Tom invited Patrick to release on his legendary Highgrade imprint, and Noah remains an important part of Patrick's Biotop label family - so it's a fitting start for the new label.
Recorded at Berlin's infamous 'Handwerk Studio', Tom and Noah present three raw tracks of strangely captivating analog dance music perfect for those early morning hours when nothing makes sense, yet everything is perfect. From the scintillating arpeggios of 'Elks' to the low-slung drive of 'Jupiter Spell' and the playful bleep mechanics of 'Handwerklich', there's no denying the late-night credibility on offer here. 'Jupiter Mode' will be released in May 2017, complete with fine mastering by Werner Niedermeier and the beautiful 'Mindtrip' cover design by MAZi. For more information: www.traumraum.org.
