The album Boxed In considers themes of labelling, belonging and boxes in a celebration of Black British culture and a critique of stereotyping. The instrumentalists on the album came to a realisation that most orchestras shun black communities through their historical homogeneity and lack of appreciation for black musicians. The entire album therefore leverages power of classical instruments in a non-classical way.
Hotly-tipped London-based composer/bassist Daniel Casimir shares this third and final single New Waters from this solo debut album. New Waters pairs Ria Moran's breathy vocals with swelling strings and Casimir's weighty production treatments to concoct something both grand and soulful.
