Petter Eldh's Koma Saxo announce a new album upcoming on We Jazz Records, spring 2022. The album features Swedish vocalist Sofia Jernberg, and the first single is entitled "Koma Kaprifol", released 3 December in celebration of Koma Saxo Feat. Sofia Jernberg appearing at Helsinki's We Jazz Festival.
Petter Eldh says:
"The track is called 'Koma Kaprifol', kaprifol is the landscape flower of Bohuslän on the West Coast, where I grew up. This one has an obvious boom-bap influence, the concept of a flute loop now being part of Y-OTIS, Koma and Beastie Boys. The first little sung melody is a nod to early Lykke Li maybe? The second part with lyrics is the real tribute to the young Petter being a teenager on the Swedish West Coast. And the lyrics are describing the quest of finding the 'Kaprifol', which is the symbol of where I grew up, the town being Lysekil and the area being Bohuslän. It's also the flower that my best friend Gustav has tattooed on his arm."
