- Release: 2021-04-30
Wah Wah 45s are proud to present a very special live recording of Never Come Down, a favourite from their latest album,Cages.
“It's been a strange year for us musicians. Whilst Covid has hit so many people hard, the arts have had some serious challenges! The timing of the release of our third record,Cages, was not exactly ideal; with live concerts cancelled, we lost every gig on the calendar and many opportunities to promote an album we all worked so hard to create.
The reality is, though, that we are fortunate in so many ways when so many have had to endure genuine suffering and hardship. Our studio, Woods Lodge, has been our salvation and allowed us to continue playing, writing, and rehearsing for large swathes of the last year. We took advantage of this wonderful asset by recording live versions of tracks from the album, and we are delighted to shareNever Come Downlive from Woods Lodge.
Recorded during lockdown 1, the session was inspired by our tour's cancellation to both give us some purpose and deliver something back to the fans. The song title is quite apt, given the challenges the world is facing. Like the lyrics of the song, the music is an inspiration to play; every part seems to roll into each other and crescendo into something that feels very powerful as a player. It's one of those tracks that demonstrates what we do - groove, harmony, hope and aggression, all delivered in 5 minutes.
We hope you enjoy it!”
