These studio reels lay in an old New Orleans studio that had been ripped apart from
Hurrican Katrina.
James Black had an infamous reputation as not only being the amazing drummer and the backbone to
Eddie Bo's "Hook & Sling" and other hard funk records.
But for never finishing any of his own studio sessions, so finding this reel was a real treat.
The music seems to be reflect the many moods James had, at one moment "Open Window" delivers a bright breezy flowing jazz compostiton, whilst "Cold turkey" reflecting some of the artists darker sides.
