The owner and head of one of the most resilient underground dance labels around GETME!, Alex Hislop better known as Lixo has been a consistent presence in the ever changing UK music scene.
A follow up to his 'Circada' E.P 'Reuptake', is a four track EP he made over the lockdown period. "I wanted to focus on what felt euphoric and positive, the only helpful response to the current climate and a good juxtaposition to previous, perhaps darker work. The tone is a lot more bright, I lent heavily on melody and arpeggio structures whilst trying to be a bit more free with my approach."
"This refreshing take on electronic music has earned both Lixo and GETME! precedence in one of the world's leading cities for dance music." - Boiler Room
"Hislop again displays an affinity for sharp-edged elements and truncated sample splices." - XLR8R
"Drawing, DJing, collaborating and writing, Alex Hislop, aka Lixo, is the creator of eclectic art collective GETME!" - i-D magazine.
Previous radio support from : Benji B, Toddla T, Mary Anne Hobbes, Jamz Supernova, Raji Rags, Mr Beatnik, Young Turks.
