Slagwerk is utterly happy to announce their third release, a 4-track piece by London-based and Belgian born producer 0comeups. Entitled 'Creek Don't Rise', this EP is his first output since ‘One Deep’, his debut on Purple Tape Pedigree back in 2016.

Aside from 0comeups' musical explorations, he broadened his experience in the gaming industry, trying his hand at sound design. As part of an audio development team for a AAA title he focuses on the implementation and processing of real-time sounds, ambiences and music within an audio engine. His affinity with gaming and the lost caverns of internet culture as a whole shines through his productions in a subtle and unsettling manner. The same applies to his recent collaboration with Belgian visual artist Yannick Val Gesto on the video piece Idol (idle). A work where iconic, idolized stereotypes enter a state of awareness by means of a total embrace of what is.

In his sophomore release for Slagwerk a certain continuity can be traced with regard to his previous effort on PTP, yet the changes applied outweighs this. Creek Don’t Rise consists of four MIDI compositions blissfully morphing while demanding repetition. This inclination towards a cyclical journey is very apparent in the track ‘Them Not Me’, which triumphantly presents a spiral of presets. ‘Red Spawn’ reaches a sense of drama with its tearfully reverb-drenched piano leaving the listener cold. The dissonance of ‘Herd’ gives of a similar sentiment, filtered through a hopeful yet drunken haze. As a fitting finale ‘Callused Revisited’ invites you to commence a new chapter, a new dawn to embrace.
