About the piece:
new neighbours
[Study in Wendy Carlos' Super Just Intonation]
When new neighbours move in to a block of flats, it has a certain thrill. An acoustic familiarisation sets in. How much TV do they watch, how loud is their sex, how many children are making a racket? Do they throw endless parties or are they disturbingly quiet? Some things about the new neighbours are more pleasant, others take some getting used to. An exercise in tolerance and self-reflection.
"new neighbours" was written in the Super Just Intonation developed by Wendy Carlos and is inspired by her album "Beauty in the Beast". (Clemens Wenger, translation: Brigitte Scott)
