FOOOL takes us once again on a journey into his youth days in Berlin.
The four tracks are full of nostalgic wistfulness - like film sequences from another time, frantically recorded with old camcorders. Musically, the authentic throwback succeeds with equally playful and melodic synth chords. Wonderfully analog sounding, sometimes with catchy-breaky 80s vibes, sometimes with dreamy guitar phrases and then again rough acid edginess.
With this mixture, the EP is fully immersed in both the present of UK-inspired club music and the multi-layered exploration of recent dance music history. House meets e-funk, electro meets UK funky, modern breakbeats or post rock. FOOOL simply loves breaks as well as musical narration - and so there are many unexpected turns and rhythmic shifts on the ride. Leipzig duo ttyfal & Chocolate Grinder capture this with great sense for their warm sounding remix as the closing track.
