Patterns & Methods is a collection of music that Yair Etziony composed for the label Handstitched during the years 2017, 2018 and 2022. The music represents mainly winter or changes in weather; it reflects mainly the winter mood in Berlin where Etziony lives. The music was written and composed on various tools from pure analog synths such as a modular system using as many VCAs and LPGs as possible. Other tracks were written with Roland SH101, Roland MC202 and they represent a sort of 80s/90s feel. The last tunes were all done purely on a DAW, and the sound is different but not in an obvious way. All the music in this release is dedicated to my old friend Tim Martin (Maps and Diagrams). Dedicated to False Industries graphic designer and Yair's good friend Tuvia K, 'King Tubi' makes the 1990s references far more tangible, using a chunky, blunted break and molasses-slow acid funk to remind of a world where it felt like anything was possible. But the drum 'n bass influence is still the most pervasive sound on "Stars" - 'Wasteland' and the album's closing title track are Yair's most upfront tracks to date, harking back to the precise techstep sound of Virus Recordings and Renegade Hardware.
