Tiptop Audio Records finds the perfect way to conclude 2016 with this new release!
Black Shape is a project by Piero Fragola and Mattia Tuliozi. The EP opening track "Doom Room" was already released on the second double vinyl compilation Tiptop Audio Records, published this past January. Featuring a groove built around the inventive, if somewhat unlikely, source of slide blues guitar and dislocated vocals, Doom Room lives up to its title. "The River" and "Wild Paths, two other unedited tracks by Black Shape, follow the title track with driving beats, slinky basslines and shimmering melodies which evoke their pastoral namesakes, albeit in the dead of night and shrouded in eerie fog. The EP goes further with four different remixes of "Doom Room" by Ayarcana, Franz Alice Stern, Matteo Gatti and Avenir & Restivo: each filtering the original through their own talents: from Ayarcana cranking the distortion and aggression to mind melting levels to the dark atmospherics of Avenir and Restivo, each artist takes the source to new territory. Black Shape's sounds are created using modular synthesizers systems, in line with the Tiptop Audio Records' concept.
