Tabby is the psueodonym of experimental violinist Zachary Paul, exploring the capabilities of the voice. Tabby is also an attempt to merge a wide range of musical interests, including pop, hip-hop, and shoegaze.
"ONE" is the first of nine releases, exploring different sides of Tabby's personality in a pop context. This release is heavily inspired by avant-pop and experimental hip-hop artists such as Organ Tapes, Palmistry, SOPHIE, Charli XCX, Slug Christ, Yung Lean, and Nedarb. Composed of nine parts, ONE is intended to be listened to in its entirety. Interludes connect the tracks, which themselves contain a narrative flow. There are a wide range of sounds on the EP, from the sugary pop of "Cellular" to the minimal dancehall of "IDC."
