David Castellani is back on his LA based Noetic imprint with 'Hyperstop' EP, containing a Castellani original and rework from Japan's top techno export Ken Ishii. Ishii has been hailed as one of techno's pioneers - composing innovative music since the early 90s under multiple alias', leading him to regular tours across Europe, the US, Asia and beyond.

The original cut from Castellani is a modular vortex of punchy drums and trippy effects. Kicking off with a single kick and modular riff, off-kilter shakers and a distant hi-hat are teased in the background. As the track develops an ethereal galactic feeling gains momentum. Sirenic tones and fleeting laser sounds swipe throughout while the percussion gets heavier, with an ever-present snapping effect that reverberates consistently throughout.
On remix duties is Ken Ishii with a rendition that gives nod to his signature style whilst maintaining the core elements of Castellani's original. Using a hypnotic arpeggio and rework of the initial snapping effect, his interpretation is menacing and dark. Ishii maintains the chaos evoked by the primary alarms, adding in a sinister jingling effect that creeps consistently throughout. Ken emphasizes the cosmic energy in Castellani's original with more galactic snaps and shooting synths, resulting in a futuristic rework not far from Ishii's original compositions.
