Lazily, the tide rolls back in, caressing the shore in a single, sonorous manoeuvre. Leeds-based house producer Lone Saxon drops anchor for the first Balearic Ensemble outing of 2023, bringing shipmates Running Hot, Orchid and DJ Phidias along for some extra sea-salt remix action. Get it on.

'Raised By The Island is a deeply expressive ode to the rhythms of flora & fauna, underpinned by Lone Saxon's unique spin on the balearic beat. A medley of imaginative melodies and percussive flourishes, skilfully padded with rousing vocal samples and bass pulled from deep down low. This is certified balearic hardware; we're loving it, you will too.

Next up Running Hot steps things up a notch, kicking and convulsing into harder territories with a massive balearic breakbeat remix wrapped around a 90s prog vocal sample. His remix goes hard on percussion, pads and carbonated b-lines, reconceiving Lone Saxon's island anthem into late night, hands-in-the-air tackle. HUGE summer tip (viva the balearic breakbeat)!

Next up is Moscow's edit king Orchid, who delivers an inside-out rework where acid bass snakes through the gaps left between jaunty pad stabs and spirited snare cadences. It#s a letter from a faraway place, with tales of strange beasts and creatures; a place of endless summer from where you won't want to leave.

Finally, Klasse Wreck's DJ Phidias takes the helm, rounding off the EP with a suave, percussion-based reimagining of Lone Saxon's balearic sensation. The Barcelona-via-Venezuela producer's version chugs along, eclectic and unhurried, armed with space controller gurgles, polyrhythms and pitch-stretched drum samples for a carefully constructed dancefloor warm-up. Class action by Phidias to round off what might be our favourite package yet.
