LowEnd006 is the digital-only remix pack from JohannesK's debut EP 'Is The Tree Dead?', reinterpreted by a handful of established and emerging names in the techno scene. Four artists present captivating takes and stylistic approaches to the originals 'Concrete Cracks' and 'Leaves'. The EP takes off with a track crafted by Berlin-based producer Peryl, who's been gaining momentum in his recent collaboration with Rødhåd. The release opens with swiftly moving spatial sounds that gushes through the room, while undertone melody and drums come and go smoothly like tidal waves, devouring space and time. The following track glistens at a fast pace from the very start, building a steady and tenacious rhythm and swirling flow. The Armenian techno producer Tøtal also left a special detail in the remix that sounds like concrete cracking in an analog effect while keeping the suspension and the energy going high throughout. The B side serves a vigorous gallop of gritty modular synths by Varna Vein, a new modular project by a well-respected artist in the genre, recognisable by his signature sounds. Varna Vein switches from a raw and stripped-down intro to a rapid swarm of eerie melodies and midtones overflowing in an unpredictable manner. The final remix for the EP is a cinematic reinterpretation of 'Leaves' by the soaring talent Quelza, adding several plot twists to the initial 4/4 kick-styled track. Boosting an energetic base layered with jungle, idm, and broken beat aesthetics, this pounding cut moves viscerally through the dancefloor. The release artwork is a hand-painted piece by Johannes Bosisio, as in all previous EPs on the label.
