The inspiring run of debutants on Watergate Records continues, as Ede & Deckert
step up to the plate.
The pair are a newly minted production partnership, having dropped a strong collaborative
single 'Immer' on Running Back last September, featuring vocalist 'Sargland' that blurred
the lines between indie dance and post punk.
Outside of this, Deckert has dropped heat on Connected and Stil Vor Talent, and is one
half of live electronic act Deorbiting, while the emerging Ede has credits on Innervisions
and Correspondent to his name.
When paired together, their work hits different. 'Hold This Down' is an exhilarating tune of
the highest order, as a pacey nu-disco is paired with a sped up vocal hook to create a very
fun, pop-leaning gem. Robert Johnson resident Maruwa takes the original to another level,
upping the tempos and intensity for a slamming techno re-rub. 'Buri Buri' is a cutting-edge
genre-hopper mixing up influences from European house and UK bass with inspiring
freshness.
