Slam City Jams is back and welcomes Munich-based producer and DJ Nic Jalusi to the label. He is part of the Super Sound Global crew, renowned for digging out all kinds of under the radar records, as well as releasing fine edits and OGs on their own imprint. Following releases on Earth On Earth, Terra Magica, and his own label, we are happy to release "Aqua Dream", Jalusi's debut full-length EP. On "Kickstart" and "Relax Your Body" (with SSG homie Piu) Nic chooses his Tech Ryder moniker to channel the good early prog house - with trippy synths, rolling basslines, nicely sprinkled vocal cutz and digidi-dope dub references. For the following three tracks, Jalusi returns under his own name and rolls nicely below the 110 BPM mark. The title track "Aqua Dream" is breaky balearic galore with an Italohouse touch, while "Affirmation Dub" with its dramatic melodies and swingy drumswould've fit in Weatherhalls "Massive Mello" mix back in the days. Finally, "Moments In Life" is a deep downtempo affair that perfectly wraps up this 5-tracker. A debut record you shouldn't miss out on!
