Balearic Ensemble jump back into the fray with a brand new selection of tangy balearic burners. Tried and tested, polished and shined, we present EVERYTHING FOREVER, the latest outing by Claptrap boss Vanity Project, plus remixes from Bali-based Gold Suite and our own man behind the pen, Sibson.
VP kicks off with 'Struck Off', criss-cross bass work on a straight shuffle beat. Six minutes for shifting gears, pensive, rapt, nimble / fast. Struck Off sets the tone, a dream polished on Chicago sheen.
Pulling back to a cooler breeze, 'Everything Forever' dreams up dub cauldrons on hazy synth circuitry, whistled and tapped to the teeth for a stunning mid-tempo execution. Satin pads in soft lustre, the revolving door to the disco floor.
Next up, Bali man Gold Suite takes the reins for his remix of Everything Forever, swapping in blurred breaks and sharp stabs alongside a definitively 90s percussive ensemble. Crisp b-lines cut routes through the blue, spritely, sweet and neon. Right place right time kinda track, potential hit at your next pirouette.
Sibson's Metal Mix rounds out the sequence, painting a suitably darker tone of Struck Off that veers into acid and body music territory. Lysergic spittle at the mouth of old film bit players, a serial cast of menacing melodies, and that outrageous laser-studded climax. Look and it's gone, blink and it's back.
Everything Forever, digi-only for now. You know what to do.
