Toxic Work Environment is the new EP from NYC’s Ital. Following last year’s stunning Endgame, T.W.E. expands on that album’s dark precision and oozing paranoia. A vortex of late-capitalist panic, the first 3 tracks are vicious dancefloor weapons, creating a time-space tunnel from which the listener can’t escape. Ups and downs move between moments of hypertension and fleeting liberation. Fourth track “The Citadel” shifts to a more contemplative place, with strange whispers and distant melodies, which G.O.D.’s remix then takes to an even murkier level inspired by the record’s mood.
