Faze Action – Time By Your Side (FAR025)
Faze Action brothers, Simon and Robin Lee, are joined by the high gloss and sensual vocals of original dance floor singer, Mary Moore for this latest release from the recent “Body Of One” album, that has been turning more than a few heads since it’s release earlier this year.
The original track has the feel of an early house record, with a twist, a trick that Faze Action seem to pull off with continuing aplomb. Kalimba’s and New York Downtown analogue bass synth sounds abound, topped off with the message, skillfully delivered by Mary Moore, who also features heavily in the eight piece Faze Action live show. Up next is the ever present Pete Herbert who builds on the original flow of the song by adding gritty scratch guitars, a new bass line and tough, hard hitting drums, giving a new edge whilst retaining a clear musicality that permeates all of his work.
Andromeda Orchestra’s take gives the vocal a fresh disco approach with live bass, Rhodes piano and guitar, played and mixed by Robin Lee. With the Rudy’s Midnight Machine Mix serving up a deeper and more electronic version with stuttering sampled vocals that put the final touches on this mix package.
