Thread Heather is a side project by Diskotopia label co-head Matt Lyne, whose recent album "Restoration" under his primary moniker A Taut Line was featured in Bandcamp's Best Electronic Releases of 2024. The Thread Heather project debuted on the second Ashigakari compilation in 2023 with the track My Best Pearls along the likes of Doc Sleep and Memotone, a release that earned radio play on Apiento's Test Pressing NTS show and Cian Ó Cíobháin's An Taobh Tuathail on RTE RnaG.
La Distance is the debut Thread Heather solo release, a four-track EP that infuses Larry Heard-style deep house with influences from Y2K-era Compost Records, Soundstream, Moodymann, Theo Parrish, Soichi Terada, Mr YT, and more.
