The work on Home began in the spring of 2021. While a virus raged across the world, GOLFBLITZ explored the "home inside the mind" and the struggling self that resides there. The album's progression follows the erratic mental journey of an unknown persona, who navigates through personal and external fates across the 11 tracks. The characteristic media overlap of the 2020s is mirrored in the music and represented by switching between imaginative radio stations and the voice of a radio DJ. These elements accompany the listener from start to finish, providing the pieces with a wide array of potential, genre-crossing points of connection. GOLFBLITZ uses experimental sound sources such as modular noises and selected samples as starting points, often capturing unrepeatable moments that are then further processed. The songs, lasting 2 to 5 minutes, delve into themes like the fear of emancipation, anxieties about the future, loneliness, and missed connections. The concept of Home itself, as an internal refuge, is questioned: To what extent does my Home still belong to me, and how much am I involved in shaping it? The diversity of guest appearances and samples used in the album is deliberately chosen to give voice to various perspectives on these questions. Home negotiates the interplay between diving in, tuning out, and emerging.
