"Half-Translated Portmanteau" echoes the 'Hip' spirit of the Beat Generation and their jazz-drenched, free-form fire: think Roni Size meets Ginsberg meets Kerouac plugged into an MPC. Lo-fi and lucid, this one's for the heads: Gil Scott-Heron with Voice Monet vibes, filtered through the Fl.oz lens at the Six Gallery or Gaslight Cafe where jazz, hip hop, poetry and raw electronics swirl in a moody haze. Tender Buttons brings a new voice to that lineage.
