Performing solo one night in the Birdcage Bar at the Hobart Casino, guitarist Lyn Thomas was approached by a stranger asking him to write him an ad for Silver's Restaurant Nightclub. The result was a truly funky 45 on Candle Records in 1976. Perhaps the funkiest release on the legendary Tasmanian label and one that has become much sought-after in collector circles.

Feelin' Funky & Feelin' Silver were written by guitarist Lyn Thomas and produced by Candle Records owner Nick Armstrong at his Spectangle Studios in Hobart. Players on the session featured Ross Sutton on drums, Robyn Moore on vocals, Ian Clyne on piano and Lyn Thomas on guitar.

Nick Armstrong released the 7" via his Candle Records label, an institution in the history of recorded Tasmanian music, and it has since slipped into collector-obscurity.

Lyn Thomas was a stalwart in the Tasmanian music scene known for originally cutting his teeth with a raw brand of garage surf-rock in The Planets through the 60’s before shifting his fuzzed out guitars to the psych-rock realm with Bacchus in the 70’s, continuing to write, record and perform solo throughout the 80s.

Austudy Records present the first reissue of the Silver Bump Band on 45rpm 7" housed in company jacket.
