Gobi is based on extremly slowed down and granularised material, from a recording session that turned later into the drum&bass influenced Polaroid track. The original recording is more then two hours long.

The most difficult decision was finding the right duration and mix of excerpts from that recording.
Gobi became one of the most successful early Monolake records. When we released it, we expected to sell less then 1000 copies. We sold much much more. The golden age before download...
