「円筒蓄音機は1890年代後半に初めて家庭/お茶の間に入り、1920年代に新しい技術に取って代わられるまで使われたようで、”歌っている人、楽器を演奏している人、おしゃべりをしている人、ジョークを言っている人、遠い未来のために海外の家族にオーディオ・レターを送っている人、子供の泣き声や喃語、農場の動物の鳴き声など”、商業音楽や民族学でなく、様々なプライベートな記録や遊び心、未来へのメッセージなどが自在に蓄音機に録音、記録されていたようで、それらの時代を超えた言霊宿るロマンチック貴重な録音記録をコンパイルしてカセットテープ作品化したもの。
