The first release from In Sheep's Clothing Hi-Fi, a record shop in LA, features studio sessions recorded by Pino Palladino, Blake Mills and Sam Gendel, three musicians each with outstanding playing skills and impressive careers. african, minimalism and marginal jazz are the keywords that first come to mind when thinking of Jon Hassell, but this is a very unique and improvised session in such a fourth world image. Highly recommended.
