Emerging from the moors of the post-industrial North, Miles J Paralysis arrives on his freshly minted Crying Outcast imprint with a maiden voyage of an unsettling yet hypnotic nature, reinforced with a heavyweight wormhole dub version from London stalwarts Brian not Brian (Going Good / Midnight Drive) and Piers Harrison (Soft Rocks / Mysticisms). Opening salvo: The Folktronic EP showcases a deep understanding of sonic landscapes, offering a fresh and versatile take on high-octane dub and occult house. Celestial moans intertwine with spiralling, hazy percussion, creating an immersive experience that pulls listeners into its orbit. Designed to keep the dancefloor moving, this record carries an eerie undercurrent - hinting that something ‘other’ lurks just beneath the surface.
MOODHUTやThe Mystic Jungle Tribe、デトロイトTodd Modesなどなどをロンドン経由でリリースしてきた、〈Going Good〉のBrian Not Brianからの紹介でMiles J Paralysisのレーベル〈Crying Outcast〉の取り扱い開始しました。BrianとSoft RocksのPiers Harrisonのリミックス収録の「Folktronic」EP。インダストリアル・ダブの影響を伺えるA1の「Still Waiting」がまずかっこいいです。そしてGhost Assemblyへのミックス提供や二人でのJ MIXスプリットのリリースなどのタッグでも展開中のBrian Not BrianとPiers Harrisonの共作による攻めているリミックス「'Like A Version' Disco Dub No.4」、B1の「Always Liked Scarecrows」(ずっとカカシが好きだった)(sample3)もアシッドな音色でユニーク。B2はプログレシブヴハウスをスクリューしたようなスローダウンチューン。面白いレーベルの誕生。注目したいですね。 (サイトウ)
