スピリチュアル・メロウ、錬金術のようにアンサンブル織り成される牧歌的フォーキーなソフト・サイケデリック静謐なるメディテーショナル・モダンジャズ内省宇宙。Don Leisureとの共作「Beyond The Midnight Sun」も素晴らしかったですが、今作「The Liminality of Her」では、バンド編成（ハープ、ベース、ドラム、パーカッション、フルート、ヴォーカル）でのアンサンブル演奏によって、Dorothy Ashby、Alice Coltrane等の先人たちの築き上げた世界観を未来に向けて、より彼女の精神世界宇宙をフューチャー探求した、たおやかでしなやかな桃源郷のような世界観がソウルフル/ジャズ/フュージョニック丁寧に構築されている。全10曲を収録。彼女はこれまで、自身のバンドをはじめ、Matthew Halsall、Rebecca Vasmund, DJ Yoda and Chip Wickham（この新プロジェクトにも参加）らと大規模なツアーを行い、Jazzman Recordsから3枚のソロ・アルバムをリリースしてきたが、Don Leisureとの共作「Beyond The Midnight Sun」をFirst Wordからリリースしたことがきっかけで、First Wordの仲間入りを果たしての新作アルバム・リリースとなった。推薦盤とさせていただきます。 (コンピューマ)

ジャズ・クロスオーバー・ヒップホップ等々オールスタイルなソウルミュージックを続々と届けてくれているUKロンドン信頼の名レーベルFirst Word Rcordsが設立20周年を記念してスペシャルな入魂コンピレーション「Love & Purpose」を届けてくれました。過去40年間のアンダーグラウンドなブリティッシュ・ストリートソウル・ミュージックを物語る12曲をコンパイル。2LP全12曲（金文字・収録アーティスト/楽曲の英文解説ライナーノーツ封入。）
レーベル創設者Aly Giliani (AKA Gilla)が愛情込めてコンパイル作り上げた、ストリート・ソウル、オルタナティヴR&B、ネオ・ソウル、ラヴァーズ・ロックなど、1985年から現在まで、過去40年間のアンダーグラウンドなブリティッシュ・ソウル・ミュージックを物語る12曲をキュレートした、過去と現在のブリティッシュ・ソウル・ミュージックを繋いで未来へと祝福する素晴らしいコンピレーション・アルバム2LPとなっている。
単なる温故知新ノスタルジーに終わらせないために、アルバムは2部構成になっており、Disc-1（Love Side）は2000年以前に活躍したアーティストに焦点があてられた厳選6アーティスト6曲、Disc-2（Purpose Side）には、現行の新しいアーティスト達にスポットがあてられた6アーティスト6曲GA収録されている。全曲それぞれに最高ですが、まずは、A1.
