Track List
Anadol and Marie Klock have teamed up for a joint album, La grande accumulation. They met two years ago at a festival in England crowded with violent seagulls and outsider musicians. Klock being prone to barking on stage and Anadol not laughing at jokes she doesn’t find funny, they straight away had the intuition that they would meet again. And here we are, sharing these six beautiful pop oddballs with you.⠀
“A quirky pop collaboration between artists from Paris and Istanbul, with each half of the pair seemingly pushing the other to greater heights of oddness. [...] This blurring between the electronic and the acoustic is a recurring quality of La grande accumulation. Songs frequently pose a question of whether they are made up of a piano or a keyboard, a guitar or a keyboard, a human vocal or a keyboard. ‘Quand le grenier aura pris feu’ features whistling as a supporting instrument, but there’s a melting of the sound that makes it difficult to decipher whether it’s Anadol or Klock whistling or a sound created on a synth. It’s not a matter of great significance how the sounds are created, but if you want to geek out on details then the guessing game is a good bit of fun.”
– The Quietus
“A thoroughly magical album”
– Kaput Magazin
